4UP, logo & editorial
Cafe racers are a genre of motorcycles known for highly customized designs that blend style and speed. It's popular with young riders, yet the only magazines available don't reflect the age or interests of this audience. Instead of the "girl-on-bike" style of those magazines, 4up uses a collaged aesthetic with a touch of vintage appeal and bright accents. The name draws inspiration from the method of shifting gears: one down, four up. The driver uses their foot to push the shifter down one position from resting neutral for first gear, and lift the shifter four gears up from neutral for second, third, fourth, and fifth gears.
